According to Peruvian Foreign Trade Association (COMEX), Peru’s total exports from January to August this year reached US$29.893 billion, an increase of 35% over the same period of last year.
Exports of traditional (primary) products were US$23.52 billion, an increase of 34% over the same period of last year. The textile industry exported 1.221 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 26%. Chemical products were 1.083 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 42%. Fishery products were US$708 million, an increase of 67%. Steel and metallurgical products exported 718 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 34%.
Wood and paper exports were 244 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 7%. COMEX pointed out that Peru’s free trade agreement with relevant countries has promoted Peru’s exports.
