The craftsman paints the blue Dutch style on the white earthenware embryo—this is a unique blue of Delft. The Royal Delft became synonymous with the Dutch blue pottery.

The Dutch East India Company introduced white porcelain glaze and blue-and-white paint from Jingdezhen, China. After mimicry and repeated technological improvement, the blue pottery that began in the east and merged with Western geopolitical culture was born and became a national treasure of the Netherlands.

White is pure white, and blue is calm blue.
